Know Your Mentor

Ramona Sen has published two novels and has contributed to anthologies of essays. Her latest novel, The Lady on the Horse and Other Secrets published by Speaking Tiger was longlisted for the Godrej Literature Live! Literary Award for Fiction Book of the Year 2024, AutHer Awards for Best Fiction 2025, and Muse India Young Writer Awards 2024. While her first book, Crème Brûlée, published by Rupa Publications, is a romance where food plays a central role, The Lady on the Horse is a historical novel set in Kolkata. â€‹â€‹

The Process

  • Platform: The workshop will be conducted on Zoom. You will have to keep your cameras on. 
    ​

  • The Application: Send us your application via the google form. You will hear from us by //// . 
     

  • Writing Credentials: Don’t worry if you haven’t been published before or even if you’re not working on something concrete yet. The fact that you want to write fiction is enough! 
     

  • Schedule: The workshop day and time will be fixed according to the majority vote by our final candidates. The course schedule is once a week, for 90 minutes, for the duration of four weeks. We will have a waitlist of candidates in case the first set of finalists have to drop out for any reason.  If you miss a session, the basic highlights will be emailed to you. 

  • Feedback: Since this workshop is open to all aspiring writers and we are not assuming you have a manuscript, one-on-one feedback sessions are not a part of this workshop. However, since coursework will be assigned for the mentor to review, you can use any part of your Work-in-Progress manuscript for the required coursework.
     

  • Reading Material: Candidates will be guided towards reading material which is available online and suggestions for books will be made which the writer can pick up themselves if they’re interested. 
     

  • Payment: Once you have been accepted into the course, you will be sent the payment details well before the workshop begins. Finalists will have to make the payment before the course begins. The course fee is non-refundable unless we happen to cancel.
     

  • Program Fee: Rs 800o for 6 hours
